Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a former doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
