Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates includes text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the football calendar , after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.
Notable in those games were the amount of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.
However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.
Denver have the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.
They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.
At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then did a good job of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired TE their tight end has excelled big and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).
It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to pass while moving, and using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.
When you constantly rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.
Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
Payton owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him what he is.
There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.
I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this path.
They excel at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they should do against the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.
Since the league began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, which is surprising considering that the head coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.
It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
