Los Angeles witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Massive Crowds
Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show countless of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses
Festivities began well before the parade, with Dodgers fans lighting flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

In contrast, the team owner was met with a cooler welcome at the celebration. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict him walking onstage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
